The Hague, January 30, 2019 – Yesterday, on Tuesday January 29, the annual Production Process Automation (PPA) event took place in ‘Het Hart van Holland’ in Nijkerk. This event offered an extensive seminar program for management, directors, engineers, purchasing and operators in the industry including a variety of presentations and an exhibition floor. Hudson Cybertec, as part of the seminar program, presented a session about cyber security in the process industry.
While exhibitors demonstrated their knowledge and skills regarding improving performance, efficiency and effectiveness at the exhibition floor, almost 200 visitors gained insight from Hudson Cybertec on the implementation of a Cyber Security Management System (CSMS) in the process industry. Clear benefits of a CSMS, including application of a structure to cyber security and balancing related human, organizational and technology factors were discussed.
Besides a large number of practical examples that can be encountered during the implementation of a CSMS, success factors for implementation were also discussed, like creating a support base and charting a direction from the current to a desired situation.
Finally, the attendees were given some recommendations about how they can work with cyber security management within the process environment of their own organization and how to manage this effectively.
Together with the events organization and the participants, Hudson Cybertec can look back on a successful event.
